Communities and Regions: Kimberley and Western Australia
region occupies the northern portion of Western Australia, an area of approximately
400,000 square kilometers. The modern art movement started in the 1970's
at Warmun (Turkey Creek) and spread to flourish in other areas of the Kimberley
now well known for their art: Warmun, Balgo, Fitzroy Crossing, and Kalumburu.
